I’ve started to write this to you a thousand ways. Things kept getting in the way of it, mostly me.
Why?
I have lots of good news I could share, which feels good when mostly there’s a lot of bad news around me/mine.
So, I thought about telling you just the good news.
Then, I experienced the fallout in my business (my clients are directly affected by layoffs/grant funding), but I didn’t want you to worry. And yet, this is real, and you will see me adjusting things because of it.
So, here I am in this strange time, thinking about integrity. About honesty. About hope? About realism. I do enjoy a romp into magical realism, but some days, getting to the Yes, And mindset of improv is challenging.
So, with a mix of YES, AND energy, I give you a good news round up with opportunities to connect.
I was offered a contract on my medical memoir, and we are negotiating terms (I am the QUEEN of negotiation, did you know?). It will probably be released a year from now. I have been working on the 9th draft. 10th? And it is the best version of the book. I’m proud of it.
I testified at the state house in SC against a DEI bill. I’m proud of that little speech that could, and I am coaching folks who are ready to activate their artful citizenship in that way. Wanna listen?
I will have my first office in an arts collaborative starting in April. So, if you are local to me, or want to plan something local to Columbia, SC, let’s chat.
New Writing Classes starting in April! Melanie McGehee MFA, one of the @whatshesaidproject writer/teachers, is leading new courses starting in April, and we are super excited to offer these. Find out more here. Read her substack to get her vibe here:

Also, hang in there. This is not a normal time. We need each other. Double down on taking very good care of you.
X~
